About dismantled designs:

dismantled designs is a collection of one-of-a-kind reconstructed clothing and accessories.

Most dismantled pieces are made from recycled, remnant or vintage fabrics and components. I try to use up the tiniest scraps of fabric whenever possible. All of my products are created in a smoke-free, dog-friendly environment. I am always careful to wash any recycled garments before revamping them.

About the designer:

Hi, I’m Mallory. I’m 24 years old and I’m a proud resident of one of the most fabulous cities in the world: New Orleans, Louisiana.

I earned a B.A. degree in history from Loyola University, and I currently work full-time for a local museum in addition to running dismantled designs. I also write about some of my favorite indie designers and eco-friendly finds at my blog, MissMalaprop.com and in a monthly column at Antigravity Magazine. I write about fashion for Styledash.com and have written previously for BloggingNewOrleans.com.

I’m perpetually fascinated by clothing and personal style, in addition to the impact it has had on society and vice versa. When I’m not working, sewing, writing, etc… I enjoy theatre, traveling, dance parties, random acts of beauty, people-watching, and hazelnut lattes. Fashion inspirations include Mary Poppins, Katharine Hepburn, Cyndi Lauper, Vivienne Westwood and drag queens the world over!
